At the end of the intake appointment, she will confirm your first therapy session with your assigned therapist.

For psychological and neuropsychological testing:
After all intake paperwork is submitted and insurance is verified, you’ll be scheduled for an intake appointment with our testing psychologist. It’s a collaborative process designed to help you feel supported and understood from the start.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy used to help people heal from trauma and distressing experiences. During EMDR, your therapist will guide you through recalling difficult memories while using gentle, bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds. This process helps your brain reprocess memories, reducing their emotional intensity and promoting healing. Many people find EMDR effective for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related symptoms.
Yes. EMDR can be very effective for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, anxiety, or distressing life events. It helps them process overwhelming memories in a way that feels safe and manageable.
During EMDR with children, therapists use developmentally appropriate techniques such as storytelling, art, or play to help them engage in the process. The goal is to reduce the emotional intensity of painful experiences and strengthen their sense of safety and resilience.
The testing process begins with an initial consultation to understand your concerns and determine which evaluation best fits your needs. During this appointment, we’ll discuss your background, current challenges, and testing goals.
Once the evaluation plan is created, you’ll schedule one or more in-person testing sessions. These sessions may include activities such as problem-solving tasks, memory and attention exercises, questionnaires, and interviews. The length of testing depends on your age and the type of evaluation, but generally lasts several hours.
After testing is complete, your clinician will carefully interpret the results and create a comprehensive written report. You’ll then have a feedback session to review the findings, discuss diagnostic impressions if applicable, and receive personalized recommendations for treatment, school, or workplace accommodations.
Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks for testing results once all testing materials and questionnaires have been submitted.
