Serenity Counseling and Wellness is a multidisciplinary behavioral health practice that offers outpatient mental health services to the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Our focus is to provide cost-effective, affirming, and quality treatment while utilizing community resources for referrals for all clients. Our administrative and billing team is experienced and highly efficient, thus allowing clinicians to devote their focus to the client.

Licensed Clinician 

 

Serenity Counseling and Wellness is seeking to hire 2 full-time Licensed Clinicians who are proficient in providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. We are dedicated to our community partners and require consistent communication with referral sources. 

 

Position-specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy utilizing evidence-based and accepted clinical frameworks.

  • Complete comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries using our electronic health record system.

  • Assess client risk of harm, provide appropriate safety planning, and complete required reporting.

  • Adhere to professional standards of practice regarding clinical care and HIPAA.

The Clinician must be able to interact in a supportive and professional manner with clients and staff, with the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations. The person in this position must work well in a small office team environment and be open to change as Serenity Counseling and Wellness continues to grow.

 

Qualifications:  Successful candidates will possess:

​

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field

  • Illinois state clinical licensure, i.e., LCSW or LCPC (Provisional licensed candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis)

  • Minimum of two years post-master’s counseling experience

  • Availability to work a minimum of 25 billable clinical hours per week. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience working with marginalized communities

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

  • Proficiency with Office 365 and Teams

Preference will be given to candidates with additional training and certifications in alcohol/substance abuse treatment, training, and experience in trauma-informed care, and/or training and experience in marital and family therapy.

 

Compensation:

​

This is a per billable hour pay W-2 position.  Additional benefits include yearly CEU stipends, insurance credentialing, marketing, administrative and billing support, and clinical license renewal fee reimbursement.
